As primaries for the 2024 election inch closer, a new poll has revealed that former President Donald Trump has a commanding lead over his fellow GOP candidates.
The poll, conducted by Rasmussen, found that 62 percent of Republicans would vote for Trump if the Republican presidential primaries were held today.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis received the next highest percentage of support, at 17 percent. While DeSantis has yet to formally announce his run, it has been reported that the Florida leader is expected to launch his campaign in June, foregoing the deployment of an exploratory committee.— Rasmussen Reports (@Rasmussen_Poll) May 17, 2023
