On Monday, lawyer representing former President Donald Trump, Joe Tacopina, confirmed to the New York Post that he has asked Manhattan Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan to ban cameras in the courtroom during Trump's appearance Tuesday to plead in an indictment coming out of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office.
Tacopina said, "We don't normally allow cameras in courtrooms why make an exception now? To make a spectacle. They want that. We don’t."
Trump’s team argues request for cameras in the courtroom should be denied “because it will create a circus-like atmosphere at the arraignment, raise unique security concerns, and is inconsistent with President Trump’s presumption of innocence,” per letter to Judge Juan Merchan.
