Watch: Desperate Afghans Try to Board U.S. Air Force Plane at Kabul Airport

Video emerged from Afghanistan early Monday morning showing large crowds of Afghans crossing the tarmac of Kabul International Airport, apparently trying to board a taxiing U.S. Air Force transport plane.

Afghan news outlet Tolo News posted the videos online:



Thousands of Afghans crowded onto the tarmac, according to the Agence France-Presse (AFP), forcing U.S. troops to fire shots into the air to disperse them. The airport canceled all commercial flights on Sunday following the arrival of the Taliban – and immediate flight of the president of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani – to the capital city.
